
Chen Weidong
Dean, Academy of Bank of ChinaMr. Chen Weidong is executive deputy director of the International Finance Institute, Bank of China. He is responsible for the BOC’s research function covering various research areas including global economy, macroeconomic policy, RMB internationalization, financial regulation and the development of international banking industry. He joined BOC in 1999, and was closely involved in the IPO of Bank of China Hong Kong Limited and the restructuring of BOC. From 2005-2011, Mr. Chen was deputy general manager of the strategic development of BOC. From 2011-2014, he served as the vice president of Bank of China Liaoning Branch. He graduated with a PhD in economics from Renmin University of China in 1997. He is also the secretary general of the China International Finance Society, and the editor-in-chief of the Journal of International Finance and Studies of International Finance.
