Mr. Jiao Jinpu elected as the new chairman of Shanghai Gold Exchange

On October 29, Dr. Jiao Jinpu, member of IMI Academic Committee and the director general of Financial Consumer Protection Bureau, PBoC, was elected as the new Chairman of the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) at the 27th Meeting of the Second Council Session of SGE.
Prof. Jiao Jinpu worked in the PBoC for a long time. He took the position of deputy director of Policy Research Center from 1993 to 1998; deputy director of Research Bureau from 1998 to 2002; the deputy director of Chongqing Economy Committee from 2002 to 2003; a deputy director general of Research Bureau, principal of post-doctoral research center and a academic member of the Finance Institute PBoC in 2003. On December 29, 2007, he held the concurrent post of deputy director of Finance Research Institute PBoC; and on March 19, 2008, he was appointed as the deputy director of the Graduate School Committee of PBoC. In 2012, he was assigned as the director general of Financial Consumer Protection Bureau, PBoC in Shanghai, as well as a member of the party committee of PBoC.
Since he became a member of IMI Academic Committee, Prof. Jiao Jinpu has frequently written articles for IMI, giving his profound insights into many issues or topics such as China’s inclusive finance, Shanghai international finance center and internet finance, and his opinions have raised great attention in the fields of theory and practice.
