Macro-Finance Salon (No. 227): Seminar on “Digital Transformation in Wealth Management”

On March 30th, the Macro-Finance Salon (No. 227) and the closed-door seminar on the Evaluation Report of China’s Wealth Management Capability (2023) was successfully held in Beijing. In the seminar, Song Ke, Deputy Director of the International Monetary Institute of Renmin University of China, introduced the main content of the Report. Participants includedSong Jianhua, Senior Business Director of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China; Wang Zeyu, General Manager of Personal Digital Finance Department of Bank of China; Jin Qi, General Manager of Private Banking Department of Bank of Communications; Gao Bo, Deputy President of Huaxia Bank; Yuan Dongning, Deputy Manager of Wealth Management Department of China CITIC Bank; Liu Ruiqun, Deputy Manager of Retail and Wealth Management Department of China Everbright Bank; and Zhang Wei, Deputy Manager of Wealth Management Department of Ningbo Bank. They all delivered speeches and had in-depth exchanges in the discussion session.

Other experts also shared their opinions and delivered speeches in the seminar, including Xiao Gang, former Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission; Li Lihui, former President of Bank of China; Lai Xiufu, Director of the Asset and Wealth Management Institution Supervision Department of National Financial Regulatory Administration; Liu Jianjun, Professor at the College of Finance and Statistics, Hunan University and former Level Ⅰ inspector of Department of Market Supervision Ⅱ of China Securities Regulatory Commission; Gao Feng, Chief Information Officer of the China Banking Association; Yang Tao, Deputy Director of the National Institution for Financial and Development; Li Zhenhua, Dean of the Ant Group Research Institute; and Xu Jianjun, Director of the Golden Bull Financial Research Center of China Securities Journal.

The seminar was chaired by Zhang Jianhua, Professor at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University, and former President of Huaxia Bank. The experts conducted in-depth discussions on the report, proposed advice for improving the digital evaluation system of wealth management institutions, and shared some examples in digital wealth management. Additionally, they also explored the development trend and challenges of digitalization and large-scale model applications in wealth management.
