Mr. Robert Elsen is financial counsellor at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany since 2012. He acts as representative of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) which is in charge of banking, insurance and securities supervision thus assuming tasks of the three Chinese counterparts CBRC, CIRC and CSRC.

From 2007 to 2012 he was deputy head of the section international policy – technical co-operation in BaFin Frankfurt. Before he worked in the prospectus group,he also took part in European (Committee of European Securties Regulators CESR) and international (International Organisation of Securities Commissions IOSCO).

In 2011 and 2012 he was guest lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz (master class corporate finance). In the last couple of years he published various articles on capital markets.
